The Royal Oak is a delightful 17th century free house located in Brookland next to St. Augustine's Church. This fine example of a Romney Marsh village pub features fine real ales as well as good home cooked food with a large selection of daily specials. There is a pretty beer garden, so families with well-behaved children are most welcome. Venture out to the Marsh and sample the friendly, sociable atmosphere. Landlord Andrew Lovell spent over twenty years in the advertising business as an extremely efficient hands-on accountant. Now he runs the Royal Oak with his two lovely greyhounds, Ziggy and Ellie. A most interesting and engaging gentleman, Andrew bears the proud title of "Strange Landlord"; whether this is a good thing or bad can only be ascertained by a visit.

Andrew always welcomes comments and criticisms on his food and real ales. But be forewarned: make them constructive!
