The pub features a spacious pool and darts area. Monday is the local Pool League Night. A ladies' darts league should be starting in the spring of 2001. Watch for Live Music Nights featuring rock and blues bands, not to mention the occasional Karaoke Night. The Royal Oak is located one mile from Lydd Airport and very close to the 18-hold Lydd Golf Club and Driving Range, where excellent meals are served. Just south of Lydd is Dungeness, famous for its shrimps and crabs; this is a perfect location for fishing, rock collecting, and exploring the old lighthouse. Further east is Lydd-on-Sea with its beautiful secluded beach. Up the coast is the town of Dymchurch, famous for the Dr. Syn stories created by Russell Thorndike. |

For nature lovers the Romney Marsh is a superb location for birdwatching, sheepwatching, and wildlife appreciation, and Marsh walks are organised on a regular basis. In June be sure to experience the Lydd Club Day Festival with its boot fair, live entertainment. and evening fireworks display. |
